Pella Windows & Doors of Omaha and Lincoln partnered with Metropolitan Community College (MCC) students at the MCC Fort Omaha campus Construction Education Center in 2019 for their capstone project: creating a single-family home from the foundation up.
After taking an MCC class, Pella Business Development Manager Zack Heenan pitched the idea of participating in a capstone project. Not only did the company donate products (Pella 250 Series vinyl windows, a 350 Series Premium Vinyl Sliding Patio Door with Between-the-Glass blinds, and a Pella Series EnduraClad entry door), a local Pella installation team came to campus to teach several sections of students the details of proper installation and supervise their work.
